About the Chef
Romina Rasmussen brought her own brand of pastry to Salt Lake City when she opened Les Madeleines in 2003 where everything is made in-house from scratch. Her baking encompasses tradition and gives it a twist by incorporating flavors from her extensive travels. She trained in classic French pastry at the French Culinary Institute in New York City. She worked at the Mandarin Oriental Miami’s fine dining restaurant, Azul, and staged at Mesa Grill in New York City. In 2007, she was named best pastry chef by Salt Lake Magazine.
Prior to her professional pastry life, she worked for AT&T in Hong Kong SAR, China and Miami in public relations and sales respectively. She has lived in Los Angeles, CA; Washington, DC, Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong SAR China; Miami, FL; and New York City, NY. Growing up in Salt Lake City, she had an Easy Bake Oven.
